HyLICAL project successfully represented at the International Conference on Magnetism 2024 in Bologna

Hylical project partners showcased their innovative research at the ICM2024 in Bologna, Italy. As the largest conference of the magnetism community worldwide, ICM brought together top experts to discuss and explore the latest advancements in the sphere.

Key contributions from HyLICAL team included:

🔹 Allan Döring, Technische Universität Darmstadt, presentation on «Tailoring magnetocaloric properties of RCo2Hx compounds for natural gas and hydrogen liquefaction,» sharing insights into the synthesis and characterization of DyCo2Hx compounds suitable for hydrogen liquefaction. Read abstract.

🔹 Konstantin Skokov, Technische Universität Darmstadt, invited talk on «Magnetic refrigeration technology: from ambient temperatures to hydrogen liquefaction,» providing overview of recent advancements in developing and optimizing magnetocaloric materials for a hydrogen liquefaction. Read abstract.

🔹 Jia Yan Law, Universidad de Sevilla, talk on “Tuning the crossover critical point of magnetocaloric materials with the high-entropy concept,” discussing advanced tuning methods for magnetocaloric materials. Read abstract.

🔹 Victorino Franco, Universidad de Sevilla, poster on “Analyzing thermal hysteresis of magnetocaloric materials using TFORC: application to (NiMnSi)0.66(Fe2Ge)0.34,” providing insights into the thermal behavior of magnetocaloric materials. Read abstract.

🔹 Marc Strassheim, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), poster “Development of a novel hydrogen liquefier prototype using the magnetocaloric effect of holmium,» introducing HyLICAL project and featuring recent measurements of polycrystalline holmium. View poster.

This conference was an excellent opportunity to connect with industry leaders, share innovative research, and emphasize the potential of the HyLICAL technology to contribute to a greener future.
